1. What is the NPL?

The NPL is a national league providing an elite competition platform for top competitive youth soccer clubs in the U.S. Clubs must apply and meet competitive standards to be admitted to the league. NPL is the highest competitive level of soccer available to 13U-19U female players in North Alabama.

2. Why did NASC join the NPL?

We are always working to provide the best competitive and development opportunities for our players. The NPL provides that next level of consistent competition for our players allowing our players to play in a league against the top clubs in the Southeast.

3. Is NPL for boys and girls?

The NPL program for the 2024-2025 season is for girls only.

4. What clubs are in the South Atlantic Premier League (SAPL)?

The South Atlantic Premier League member clubs are top-tier clubs in the Southeast.

There are 19 girls clubs in the SAPL. North Alabama SC plays in the West Conference against Alpharetta Ambush, Kings Hammer Murfreesboro, North Georgia Soccer Academy, One Knoxville SC, Southern Soccer Academy - Central, Southern Soccer Academy - South, United Futbol Academy - Forsyth, and United Futbol Academy - Norcross.  

5. What age groups participate in the NPL?

North Alabama SC's 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U, 17U, and 18U/19U girls teams will participate in NPL.

6. Can a NPL player also play High School soccer?

Yes, players can participate in NPL and High School soccer. There is no conflict between NPL and High School seasons for 15U and up.

7. Is there a spring season for the 13U & 14U?

Yes, 13U & 14U teams play SAPL for the spring season.

8. What are the dates for the NPL season?

The 2024-2025 schedule has not been set, but NPL teams will follow the existing club schedule with a pre-season team camp in mid-July and practice beginning in July following team camp. Regular season league games are expected to begin in mid-August and may run through December. Season ends with the playoff/showcase event in January. The 13U-14U teams also have a Spring Season.

9. What are the required showcase events?

NPL teams attend the South Atlantic Premier League (SAPL) January Playoff and Showcase event in Atlanta. The SAPL Playoff event is held the 2nd weekend of January. The playoffs will determine what teams advance to the NPL regional playoffs for a chance to compete for a NPL National Championship Finals in June.

10. What is the travel schedule?

The league schedule has not been announced, but teams can expect to play 4-home and 4-away games within your conference. No cross-conference games are scheduled. Travel may be anywhere from 3.5-4.5 hours away. Games may be played as a single game or in pairs with traveling teams playing one (1) game on Saturday and one (1) game on Sunday depending on distance traveled. 

11. What is the training schedule?

Teams will train a minimum of three (3) times per week. Practices will be held in Huntsville.

12. Will college coaches attend games?

Yes, college coaches can attend NPL games. The Atlanta Playoff and Showcase event is well attended by Division I, II, and III coaches.

13. What are the fees?

The fee schedule has not been set. Fee information will be communicated separately. NASC's Financial Assistance Program extends to the NPL. Click HERE to learn more about our Financial Assistance Program.

14. Who can participate?

All players from any club are eligible to play in the NPL.

15. Can I stay rostered with my current club and play NPL?

Yes, players can play for their current club and our NPL team as long as the player's home club is not a US Club team. NPL should be the player's 1st priority.

16. When are tryouts?

Tryouts for the 2024-2025 season will be held May 11-13, 2024. 

17. Where will home games be played?

Home games will be most likely be played at Merrimack turf fields.
